Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actor who is employed in television and film, is most well-known for her roles in films such as Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the sole child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At sixteen, she had landed several television roles, such as the lead role in Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Her fame was due to her part on Der Tunnel. This paved the way to other memorable roles, including Adolf Hitler's secretary of state Traudl Junge. Other Oscar nominated films featuring the female diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra is involved in many notable projects, in both the US and abroad. For instance, the British biographical film Control, the Greek-language film The Dust of Time, as well as the French historic mini-series Napoleon include among those. Furthermore, she was part of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
